Updated: TAQNIA Finalizes its Preparation for GITEX Future Stars 2018

Saudi Arabia has been focusing its national efforts in the past years to advance the Saudi economic system and lower the dependencey on Gas & Oil. The Public Investment Fund (PIF) was formed to be one of the main tools towards achieving this vision. The PIF is a global investment powerhouse that directs its resources towards diversifying the Saudi economy and realize the Saudi dream. In 2011, TAQNIA was created by a royal decree and is fully owned by the PIF.

 

TAQNIA’s participation in GITEX Technology Week 2018 through GITEX Future Stars “GFS 2018” showcases its efforts toward startups and supporting innovation. TAQNIA will be Saudi Arabia’s country partner during the event which will take place between 14-17 October at Zabeel Hall 4 in DWTC. TAQNIA will participate alongside some of its portfolio entities such as Taqnia ETS, Taqnia Robotics, BIAC, RPDC, and RTF.

 

The sidelines of GFS 2018 on October 16th will witness the Saudi Accelerator Day, titled: “Disruptive Innovations” The Saudi Day will focus on discussing ways to unlock disruptive innovation in the startup ecosystem. The occasion will be hosted by TAQNIA and consists of three panels as following:

  • Panel I – Unlocking Disruptive Opportunities in Saudi Arabia and What It Means For Startups | Oct 16, 2018 | 11:30 – 12:15 | Za’abeel Hall 5, Player Stage
  • Panel II – Investing in Disruptive Opportunities in Saudi Arabia | Oct 16, 2018 | 12:15 – 13:00 | Za’abeel Hall 5, Player Stage
  • Panel III – Meet The Saudi Startups That Will Change The Future | Oct 16, 2018 | 13:00 – 13:30 | Za’abeel Hall 5, Player Stage

 

TAQNIA will host a mentorship clinic titling “Investing in Startups”. All startups are welcome to attend on Oct 14, 2018 from 14:00 – 14:30 at the mentorship clinic stage.
